Bill is thirteen years old and lives in a logging camp in northern Quebec where his father's a doctor. It's 1938 and there's no electricity, no indoor plumbing, and they get around by dog sled in winter and boat in summer. His mother's been home schooling him, but she's never studied physics, and this is his main interest. What can they do?
This is the story of his last summer of adventures spent in the Canadian bush with his family. Like the raven who narrates his story, Bill is curious, adventurous and high spirited, and it turns out he has a talent that will change the world.
