Walk of Life is a memoir and guided inquiry that offers the wisdom of an ancestral pilgrimage that I undertook between December 2012 and February 2013. The 1,300km walk from North Carolina to Beamsville, Ontario, was initiated by a calling I could not refuse: to walk to into the unknown to reclaim my name and honor my lineage and to leave everything behind to do so. I had a fire in my heart to follow my truth and express it fully. This pilgrimage across the land of my ancestors took me on an inner journey that asked me to face myself and my limitations with veracity, to open myself to the loving kindness of everyone I met, to claim the light and shadow of my ancestry, and to die to myself again and again to revive my commitment to and humble place within life.Walk of Life shares the unfolding truth of my journey and invites readers to listen to their own longing and find and follow their own truth through guided invitations. The story is both personal and transpersonal. I offer wisdom for the human journey based on my own experience through the language of different spiritual traditions and practices, archetypes, ancestral wisdom, the unconscious, nature mysticism, and my own philosophy of life.
