In the early 1950s, a young Army officer and a student nurse fell in love. It was a whirlwind romance, but the young Lionel and Jean were separated when he was posted to Korea. His letter went astray and they lost touch. In the early 1990s, Lionel (now divorced) is in England to work on his autobiography, My Life In Kenya. He needs a secretary and Jean (a widow) owns a secretarial agency. She sends her feisty daughter Judith (Moira Brooker), who makes such a good impression that Lionel invites her out to dinner. And, as mother and daughter share a house, the inevitable happens Lionel and Jean are reunited.
